In the old story, the demagogues who galvanize the populace against a government by corrupt elites would go on to become dictators, and the cycles of history would continue. I don't expect that to happen this time, but I also don't see the collective shift just yet. The ones who are leading the charge right now are not the ones who will ultimately lead with love, or empower all of us to lead ourselves. And yet I do find myself trusting the process...

Hi Chris, I completely agree with your analysis. I was once a liberal Democrat, protesting war, gun violence, etc. I still believe Bush was the worse president in my lifetime. My perspective changed during Covid. Mandates, school closure, businesses going under, the list is endless but the end of my personal history for democracy evaporated with forced injection. When you lose body sovereignty, you lose who you are. You become a non entity and you are shamed and demonized for your personal choice.

The perfect world we all seek ended with the assignations of JFK, RFK, Gandhi, King. And then 911. The peace makers have all been taken out. And with Reagan’s election, the uni-party was established.

Do we stay stuck or try to move forward? Trump is just being who he is, yes, but I believe change cannot be “shock and awe.” Trump has established that it is okay to be rude and lack civility. He is a poor representative of getting along with others in the sandbox. It’s no way to run a country or anything, really.

Keep writing your relevant essays and let’s all take a fork in the road. Or the once less traveled.
